MARK Connolly has parted company with Welsh Premier League club Bala Town after spending seven successful seasons at Maes Tegid.
The 33 year-old midfielder, who also played for Bangor City and Rhyl, signed for the Lakesiders in 2011 from Chester and went on to make 191 (+31) appearances for Bala, scoring 76 goals.
During that time Bala Town qualified for the Europa League four times, finished runners-up in the league twice, and lifted the Welsh Cup last season.
Connolly also holds the record for the most Welsh Premier League goals scored by a Bala player in a single season, after netting 21 goals in 2013-14.
"We couldn’t guarantee match time for Mark next season, and at this stage in his career he needs to be playing regular football, so the mutual decision was taken to bring his time at Bala to an end," said a club statement.
Meanwhile versatile utility man Andrai Jones, who can play in defence, midfield or as a forward, has signed for Bala Town.
The 25-year-old Liverpudlian started his career as a youth with Everton and Preston North End, before moving to Bury, where he made his first team debut.
He went on to make 19 appearances with a short loan spell at Altrincham, before a free transfer to Barnsley, where he signed an 18-month contract with the EFL Championship side.
He made his debut as a substitute in April 2013 in a 1–1 draw against Derby County but, in August of the same year, he joined League One side Tranmere Rovers on a month-long loan.
Released by Barnsley at the end of the season, Jones joined Gateshead where he made his debut against Wrexham, prior to another 19 appearances. Released at the end of the season he signed a two-year deal with Southport, making another 31 appearances for the Sandgrounders.
