Teejac Gwynedd League round-up
Teejac Gwynedd League round-up
LLANYSTUMDWY kick-started their season after early setbacks in the cups and in the Teejac Gwynedd League with a 5-2 rout of Beaumaris Town.
The win featured a hat-trick from Carl Threadgill, who is back with the Dwyfor Park club after a season in the Welsh Premier with Porthmadog.
Threadgill netted goals on 21, 87 and 90 minutes, while Tristan Godfrey scored in the fifth minute and Meirion Pritchard after 74, from a penalty.
Beaumaris replied early and late in the second half via Owen Roberts on 49 minutes and Andy Rosser on 81.
Holyhead Hotspur clambered to the top of the league table on the strength of their fourth win in five outings against Bangor City by a 3-1 margin.
Following a goalless opening spell, Holyhead gained the lead through Gareth Dolben on 50 minutes, but City replied through John Owen on the hour, before Dolben pounced again for Holyhead after 78 minutes.
Matthew Thomas put the issue beyond doubt by hitting the home side’s third goal right on the final whistle.
It was also 3-1 to Llanfairfechan Town against Bontnewydd, as Shane Jones netted for the hosts after five minutes, Ben Pugh on 48 and Josh Jones on 63, with Alun Williams netting a reply goal for Bont on 62.
Bethel won 3-2 against Glantraeth, after having led most of the way, thanks to Sam Williams finding the target on 19 minutes, Ben Bolton on 63 and Aled Steel on 80, while Lee Jones responded after30 and 85.
Llanystumdwy continued winning ways in the Teejac Gwynedd League on August Bank Holiday Monday, when they enjoyed their second nap hand victory in a matter of days.
Bethel’s Aled Steel opened the scoring on 40 minutes, but Meirion Pritchard kept his cool to convert a penalty virtually on the whistle for the break.
As Llanystumdwy blossomed in the second session, Tristan Godfrey steered them in front after 51 minutes, Pritchard scored again on 54 and 66 and duly completed his quartet with another sure-footed spot-kick on 75. Meical Parry netted the fifth on 89.
