A website advising objectors to bombard the planning department and the local newspapers with letters of objections was also established.
An exhibition to show plans for the proposed 20,000 sq ft store on the site of the Farmers Mart and the old Travis Perkins building was held in March, and 79 per cent who completed a form there were in favour of the new development.
