Benji is back with focus on value for money
24 February 2010
A BUSINESSMAN who was kicked off the town council for not attending meetings, has won back his seat in a landslide victory.
Peter “Benji” Rees (pictured), who lost his seat in Hafren Ward last October, has told the Cambrian News that he is “pleased to be back” and would be working for the “good of the town”.
The by-election took place last Thursday, with Cllr Rees winning 193 votes, standing alongside three other candidates: Sidney Paul Bennet of Hafrenydd (seven votes), Siân Tracy Mills of The Van (61) and a former mayor who lost his seat at the last council elections in 2008, Robert Parker-Munn (17).
