Ospreys return to roost in Machynlleth

OSPREYS have returned to their nesting ground near Machynlleth again this year.

One bird is preparing to nest and more than 4,000 visitors have flocked to see the sight in the past couple of weeks.
 

Last year volunteers from Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust created a nesting site to attract the birds and a couple arrived, however it was too late in the season for them to breed.
 

But within four days of the season starting again on 1 April, four ospreys were spotted nearby, fishing in the Dyfi Estuary.
 

Since then, one female has remained and is making a home out of the artificial platform.
