A body has been found on a beach near Barmouth. North Wales Police said they were called to the beach earlier today.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called shortly after midday today (Thursday, 28 December) to a report that a body had been located on the beach in Llanaber, Barmouth.

"Officers have attended the scene and remain there at this time.

"The coroner has been informed."
