'You could lose part of your town'
RESIDENTS in Llanidloes are being warned they could lose part of their town under a new boundary review unless they object to the changes.
A draft report by the Boundary Commission for Wales suggests that a new single electoral division be formed by joining Clywedog ward with the communities of Llangurig and Llanidloes Without.
This electoral division under the working name of Blaen Hafren would have 1,656 electors and the report suggests “there are good access links between the two communities and this amalgamation would improve the electoral parity.”
In a letter to the Cambrian News, Llanidloes’ county councillor Gareth Morgan has warned people that Clywedog ward - one of the three wards currently in the town, will become part of the “extensive rural area of Llanidloes Without”.
