Machynlleth Air Day

RESIDENTS living in the Dyfi Valley were encouraged to go mad for an event which had organisers reaching for the skies to help local charities.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Machynlleth in partnership with the Royal Air Forces Association, the Machynlleth Air Day (MAD) was held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
 

MAD, held on Tuesday 17 August, on the football field, in the Rugby Club and the White Lion, featured a variety of activities including a 1940s-style tea-party; the launching of homemade rockets; clay pigeon shooting, and displays by the RAF as well as music, stalls and entertainment.
