Controversial business park gets the go-ahead

PLANS for a controversial business park and waste water works in Capel Bangor have been given the go-ahead by the Planning Inspectorate.

A public inquiry in January, conducted by Clive Nield of the Planning Inspectorate, examined the Welsh Assembly Government’s planning application.

The application was ”called in” by the Planning Inspectorate, following a long-running saga and objections from local residents. And Welsh ministers have now granted all four applications, subject to conditions, by WAG’s economy and transport division.

The applications were for: outline planning permission for a business park on land to the south of the A44; earthworks and infrastructure to prepare the site; a waste water treatment works at Maes Bangor Farm; realignment of outfall to the proposed water treatment works.
