Stan's bell is returned to its original home

A BELL that has been used on the front of a fire engine and to call last orders at a Beddgelert pub has been returned to its original home.

The fire bell, that once took pride of place on Porthmadog’s Bedford SB water tender has since the 1970s sat on the bar of the Tanronnen Hotel calling time.

The bell, which was originally one of a pair, was returned to the fire station in Porthmadog this week in memory of firefighter Arthur Stanley Pierce, who was a crew member for many years.
