Councillors could be lost

PROPOSALS for changes to the boundaries in Powys could see the number of councillors reduced and communities divided.

Llanbrynmair in the Dyfi Valley, and Llanidloes (pictured) and its surrounding communities, will be affected if the draft plan by the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales goes ahead.
 

Llanbrynmair Community Council and Llanidloes Town Council have both voiced their concern about the changes, and county councillor Gareth Morgan has said that the plan “strikes at the very heart of democracy across the county of Powys, nowhere more than the ancient town of Llanidloes”, and that it is “an ill-thought-out proposal”.
