Body outline sparks murder fears

THE outline of a body in a busy Aberystwyth street, similar to something from a spoof murder movie, convinced some passers-by that a murder has been committed!

In the middle of the road at the junction of Mill Street and Bridge Street, there is what appears to be the outline of a dead body. But it is, in fact, something far less sinister. For Aberystwyth police have confirmed that they are not investigating any incident there.

Ceredigion County Council has the solution. A spokesperson said: “Ceredigion confirms that the Mid Wales Trunk Road Agency has been made aware of the situation, and intends to deal with the spillage.” The “spillage” appears to be paint used for white-line marking. And it is suspected that someone may just have taken advantage of the paint spillage, and decided, as a prank, to give it the appearance of a “crime scene”.
