Cyclist Chris plans a boost for cancer sufferers

A CANCER sufferer who has designed parts for Olympic gold medal-winning cycles is getting on his own bike for the challenge of a lifetime.

Engineer Chris Bell, 59, of Cribyn, will cycle 2,000 miles across Europe in seven weeks in a bid to raise £5,000 for the Prostate Cancer Charity. Chris has been battling with the disease for several years, and makes his way to Greece to begin his cycle ride on Friday. He will then pedal his way through Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and France before reaching his finishing line in the UK.

And the adventuring cyclist is already set to smash his fund-raising target after already raising an impressive £2,830 towards the pot before he even sets off on the mammoth journey.
