Silly fuels are causing traffic chaos in Port

DRIVERS in Porthmadog are calling for action to alleviate the traffic problems around the town’s Shell petrol station.

Cars queuing to fill up on the garage forecourt opposite the Ganolfan are causing major tailbacks through the town and along the Cob, often grinding traffic to a standstill.

Cars trying to turn onto the main road from Madog Street are now blocked by cars waiting to get onto the forecourt, according to one disgruntled driver David Alan Jones from Penrhyndeudraeth, who said: “Something should be done at this location.

"I can’t believe that some drivers knowingly park on the road near the junction, and block on-coming traffic, just so they can get some fuel. I realise that this doesn’t happen every day, but when it does, it’s chaos there.”
