Next-door cousins - one pays £150, the other can travel for free

A ROW has broken out over a bill of £50 a term to get one Abergynolwyn child to school, while his young cousin living next door travels for free.

Kate Barker, from Llanfihangel y Pennant, near Abergynolwyn, has sent her son Jamie to Ysgol Bryncrug for nearly three years and must pay £50 a term for him to use the school taxi service.

But she is outraged that children, including her son’s cousin, who attended Ysgol Abergynolwyn, will be able to travel for free.

Ysgol Abergynolwyn closed in July and the 12 pupils were transferred to school in Bryncrug.
