Family survives devastating blaze

A WOMAN and two young girls had to flee after fire ripped through their home.

Firefighters from Pwllheli and Nefyn were called to the property at Awelfryn, Llithfaen, at 7.42pm, to discover the living room of the property well alight.

The female occupier, her young daughter and her niece had been alerted by smoke coming from the fireplace area and the sound of smoke alarms activating, and were able to escape unharmed.

Unfortunately, while tackling the fire, firefighters found the bodies of the woman’s three deceased cats.

The fire caused 100 per cent fire damage to the lounge of the property and 100 per cent smoke damage to the remainder of the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
