Big weekend

RADIO 1 is to hold its Big Weekend at Faenol Park in Bangor, it was announced yesterday (Wednesday).

The free weekend of music will take place between Saturday, 22 and Sunday, 23 May, with acts such as Pixie Lott confirmed to be playing.

The news was announced by Radio 1 presenter Chris Moyles as his breakfast show broadcast live from Faenol Park.

With live music across four stages, and an expected 20,000 people attending for each day, the event is the biggest free ticket music festival of its kind.

Chris said: “I love Radio 1’s Big Weekend – it’s the best event all year. I’m already looking forward to spending a couple of days in Bangor and getting to know the place!”
