Protest against Milk Bar closure

A PROTEST is to take place in Llanidloes today (Wednesday) against the closure of one of the town’s most familiar landmarks.

The National Milk Bar, which has been in the town for decades, is to close by Easter after staff were given a month’s notice last Thursday.

It is thought that between four and six jobs will be lost.

The mayor of the town, Cllr Margot Jones, is to lead the campaign against the loss of the café from Great Oak Street.

Cllr Jones said: “I have written to the directing manager to express my distress over the closure and to ask them to reconsider."
