Tesco wants to build store in Aberystwyth

SUPERMARKET giant Tesco has revealed that it wants to build a store in Aberystwyth.

And the favoured location could be Mill Street car park, which has now been officially earmarked for a major shopping development by councillors.

Tesco’s plans for Aberystwyth were revealed at a town council meeting in Machynlleth, where plans to open up another supermarket have split the community.

Ceredigion County Council confirmed plans to develop Mill Street car park at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

The plans for the site include building a multi-storey car park and a number of retail units, which councillors hope will help reinvigorate the town and keep locals shopping in the town.
