Protestors show their support for milk bar

ABOUT 40 protesters turned up to show their support for a popular and long-serving cafe in Llanidloes.

As revealed in the Cambrian News last week, staff were told that the National Milk Bar based in Great Oak Street would be closing before Easter and it is thought about 13 full and part-time jobs could be lost.
 

A group protesting about its closure has been set up on social networking site Facebook and so far has attracted more than 325 members.
 

The town council, which has worked in recent campaigns including targeting irresponsible dog owners, the loss of a building society from the town and the current threat of closure to Llanidloes High School, has objected to the closure of the popular cafe.
 

The Mayor of the town, Cllr Margot Jones has written to the company, Direct TT Supplies and asked it to reconsider.
