Rival bus service will compete for same route

BUS wars are about to start in Machynlleth after a local operator decided to launch a rival service against Arriva after they say they received complaints about the existing service.


From Monday, 21 June, Lloyds Coaches of Machynlleth will be introducing a new commercial bus service which will operate between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth with peak feeder journeys to and from Tywyn via Aberdyfi.


When Arriva lost a contract between Penrhyncoch and Aberystwyth bus wars did break out between them and the local company which won the contract, with Arriva continuing to run its service at the same time as the Mid Wales Travel Bus.
