Only 16 per cent of child seats are fitted correctly

MACHYNLLETH’S county councillor has expressed concern after an inspection revealed that only about 16 per cent of child car seats tested in Machynlleth were correctly fitted.
Cllr Michael Williams said that ensuring children were safe should always be a priority.
The inspection, carried out by Powys County Council’s road safety unit took place in Machynlleth as part of a larger county-wide operation.
Eighteen seats were tested in Machynlleth, and alarmingly, just three of those were correctly fitted.
