Director wants Aber for his zombie sequel

ABERYSTWYTH may feature in the final scenes of a spectacular follow-up to cult movie The Zombie Diaries.

After film-maker Michael Bartlett’s visited the town’s Abertoir Horror Festival last year, he is now planning to shoot The Zombie Diaries 2 later this year.

Gareth Bailey, director of the Abertoir Horror Festival, has told Aberystwyth Town Council that the film maker was so impressed with Aberystwyth that he sees it as “perfect” for the closing scenes of his new film. Mr Bailey had written to the council, seeking its support for permission to shoot the scenes on the town’s south promenade.

Abertoir, which is about to be accepted into ‘Melies’, the European Federation of Fantastic Film Festivals, is coming up to its fifth year as a festival.
