Concerns that road train would cause congestion

SHOPKEEPERS in New Quay fear there will be a slump in trade if a proposed road train project to help visitors tackle the steep hills and improve traffic congestion gets the go-ahead.

Cei Dev have been working on the Road Train project for the past six years and hope to have the whole thing up and running by next summer.

But after over £100,000 funding on the table from the Welsh Assembly Government may no longer be secure in light of spending cuts this date is now uncertain.
 

The proposed diesel train could carry up to 72 passengers and run between the beach an the town’s three car parks four times an hour between 10am and 8pm during peak season.
