Blaenau Ffestiniog councillor resigns

A BLAENAU Ffestiniog councillor has resigned his position from Gwynedd Council.

Llais Gwynedd councillor Dafydd Ll. Hughes, for Bowydd and Rhiw Ward in Blaenau, handed his resignation in this morning.

A Gwynedd Council spokesperson confirm that the Council has received a letter of resignation from Councillor Dafydd Lloyd Hughes, and said: “Arrangements will now be made to hold a by-election for Blaenau Ffestiniog’s Bowydd a Rhiw ward.”

It comes just a week after Llais Gwynedd held on to their council seat in the by-election in the Diffwys and Maenofferen Ward in Blaenau, following the imprisonment of the former councillor Gwilym Euros Roberts.
