Gold award for wasteland transformed into garden

A COMMUNITY wildlife garden in Dolgellau has received a gold award and donation after being adopted by local residents.

A piece of wasteland at Felin Uchaf was taken over by the community council two years ago, then passed on to locals, who transformed the land into a wildlife garden for the town people to enjoy.

Ray Stubbs and his friends Paul Frost and Frank Faulkner have dedicated their time and spare cash into developing the area, filling the garden with flowers, benches, statues and allotments.

There is also a new memorial area, where people who have lost loved ones can plant a tree in their memory, and produce is grown and given to local elderly people.
