Vandals target station just weeks after revamp

MINDLESS vandals set fire to a stolen scooter at Harlech train station causing damage to newly-decorated shelters, just weeks after a community project to restore the neglected station was complete.

The station was adopted by Harlech WI last year after it suffered years of neglect, and the group pledged to involve the community in helping to decorate and refurbish it.

Ysgol Ardudwy, Harlech WI and some helpers from Coleg Harlech put in hours of work bringing the station to life with bright paintings of Welsh traditions and legends.

But the community was shocked and upset to learn that the murals decorated by the schoolchildren have been severely damaged by fire after a scooter was stolen and set alight under the shelter.
