Lucky escape for couple as lorry ploughs into B&B

A COUPLE staying in a Beddgelert B&B had a lucky escape after a lorry ploughed into the side of the property, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

A large HGV crashed into the side of The Colwyn Guest House on Caernarfon Road on Friday, hours before residents held crunch talks in a bid to tackle the problem of lorries clogging up the village because of Sat Nav directions.

Owner of the guest house Colleen Marsden said: “It happened at around 7am on Friday. It was a large HGV around 40 feet long. I’ve had damage to my property before, with guttering and a window sill being clipped, but nothing as bad as this.”
