Top health professionals demand assurances
TOP health professionals in Aberystwyth have demanded that specialist services are available at Bronglais following concerns that the hospital could be downgraded.
In the letter (click here for full letter) to Assembly health minister Edwina Hart, group spokesman retired GP Dr William Roberts said they welcomed WAG investment in Bronglais, but wanted assurances that no services would be lost.
Dr Roberts said: “The arguments behind those rejections were based on the human and social costs of travelling to care provided at 50 or more miles away, often in dense traffic or poor weather conditions, and adding to badly-stressed patients and carer concerns at such times."
