Machynlleth lose at home

BESET by injuries, Machynlleth started life in the new  Division Two North with a disappointing 20-13 home loss to Rhyl in their opener.
Forced to ring the changes, Mach know competition will be tougher in the new league, and found themselves 10-0 down as they struggled to get going.
However they can take positives from the way they rallied in the second period, and crossed for two tries.
Iwan Jones, who switched from fly half to scrum half, grabbed a try and kicked a penalty, while second row Sion McAuley also scored.
• In the new Division Three North Llanidloes notched up a convincing 34-0 win over Wrexham,
Flanker Dick Jones led the charge with a brace, while wing Paul Jehu also went over, along with centres Huw Owen and Ed Pugh.
Fullback Dan Short landed three conversions and a penalty while veteran second row Mark Diamond and fly half Adam Price impressed.
