A Porthmadog dad has spoken of his loss after his son took his own life earlier this year.
Gavin Pugh, who grew up in Porthmadog, died earlier this year and his father, Arwel Pugh, is using his grief to raise awareness of male suicide.
Gavin lived in Cardiff, with a prestigious job in finance for Welsh Government and was a keen football fan, following both Wales and Wrexham FC.
He was also an avid runner and a member of two running clubs.
Speaking of his family’s loss this week, Arwel Pugh, said: “Losing Gavin to this illness has had a devastating effect on our lives but raising awareness and preventing another death is now our aim.
“We would like to thank the community of Porthmadog and the surrounding areas for the love, support and kindness shown to us as a family since his passing.”
To remember Gavin, a charity run will be held in Porthmadog on 10 September, World Suicide Prevention Day. The run will also be aiming to raise money for the charity Mind.
