CEREDIGION and Pembrokeshire have both recorded no new cases of coronavirus today, according to official figures.

Gwynedd has today recorded 11 new cases of Covid-19 with Carmarthenshire recording seven and Powys, one.

Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion have both recorded no new cases today in figures released by Public Health Wales this lunch time.

Across Wales, 125 new cases have been confirmed today and one new suspected Covid-19 death has been reported.

The total number of cases in Wales is now 209,191, with 5,506 deaths.

1.4 million people have received their first dose of the Covid vaccine in Wales so far with 416,862 people receiving both jabs.

Giving the daily statement on Monday, Dr Giri Shankar, Incident Director for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak response at Public Health Wales, said: “Last week Welsh Government announced the lifting of the ‘stay local’ requirement from Saturday 27 March, and that self-contained holiday accommodation can open for those who live in Wales. People should stay within the borders of Wales unless for essential travel such as work or education.

“In addition, six people from two households are able to meet outdoors, organised outdoors activities for children under 18 can resume, and libraries can re-open.

“This slight easing of Covid lockdown rules is encouraging, however while the number of cases is declining overall, there are still several areas which have significantly higher rates.

“This is a stark reminder of the need for everyone to maintain constant vigilance, by practising hand hygiene, keeping 2m apart from people that you don’t live with, and wearing a mask in indoor environments.

“Mirroring arrangements at Christmas time, we will not be publishing Coronavirus data on the dashboard or a daily statement on Good Friday (2 April) or Easter Sunday (4 April).

“It is clear that Coronavirus has not gone away, and there are still a large number of people who have not been vaccinated.

"In order to protect everyone, including the most vulnerable, we must all stick to the rules.

“Welsh Government restrictions state that you should not go into any other household or mix indoors with other people who you don’t live with.”
