GWYNEDD is the only county in Wales to not record a single new case of Covid-19 over the last 24 hours, according to official statistics.
The daily figures, released by Public Health Wales, show that Gwynedd did not record a single new case over the past day, making its seven-day total 67.
Ceredigion recorded five new cases over the past 24 hours, taking its total to 23 over the last seven days.
Carmarthenshire again saw the largest number of cases in west Wales, with 36 recorded in the last 24 hours.
These new cases take Carmarthenshire’s weekly total to 308.
Powys recorded 22 new cases in the last 24 hours, leaving the county with a weekly total of 169.
Pembrokeshire recorded three new cases, taking the seven day total to 66.
Across Wales, 1,119 new positive cases were recorded in the last 24 hours from 10,212 tests.
Four new deaths from suspected Covid-19 were also recorded, taking the total number of deaths since the pandemic began in March to 1,895.
Speaking today following the daily figures, Dr Giri Shankar, Incident Director for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak response at Public Health Wales, said: “Public Health Wales will work with Welsh Government to monitor the effect of the regulations which will come in at the end of the current fire-break period on 9 November 2020.
“We support the call for the public to take personal responsibility for their actions and to ensure that we are all doing as much as possible to limit the transmission of coronavirus.
“As we enter the second and final week of the fire-break, we urge the public to stick to the current rules, which are vital to help us regain control of the virus, to protect the NHS, and save lives.
“Although national and local measures have made a difference, further action is needed.
“Cases continue to rise in Wales, hospital admissions are increasing, including those into critical care, and sadly so are the numbers of people dying from the virus."
