OPPORTUNISTIC thieves have stolen tens of thousands of pounds worth of equipment from Blaenau Ffestiniog businesses.
An appeal for witnesses and information is being made after two businesses were targeted.
Sometime between 6pm on Thursday, 10 March, and 8.30am on Friday, 11 March, a burglary took place at the Llechwedd site, where various buildings were targeted and items stolen.
The offenders are believed to have entered the site via the main gate.
Entry was also gained into the Zip World reception building where boxes containing 20 GARMIN head cameras were stolen.
A small amount of cash was also taken.
Specialist computer equipment, including CCTV cameras, video production cameras and a television, including a specialist outdoor television, was stolen from the Llechwedd site during the same time frame.
Crime scene investigators attended to carry out examinations of the scenes and police enquiries are ongoing.
Pc Carwyn ap Tomos said: “The stolen equipment is worth a substantial amount of money, therefore we are keen to speak to anybody who may have information that could assist the investigation, or anybody who may know the whereabouts of the specialist equipment to contact us.
“One of the items that was stolen was a USB device which had sentimental film footage and the owners are desperate for its return.”
