A HOTEL porter called himself “Charlotte 1995” to access a lesbian chatroom and indulge in what a judge described as “warped sexual fantasies”.
Miles Bird, 50, of Cae Morys, Beddgelert, admitted four charges relating to indecent images of 14 children aged between seven and 15.
Police internet specialists had detected that images had been uploaded and Bird’s laptop had been seized last July, said Ember-Jade Wong, prosecuting.
At Caernarfon Crown Court on Monday, Judge Niclas Parry placed Bird on an 18-month community order with an alcohol treatment programme for six months and 50 days of rehabilitation.
A Sexual Harm Prevention Order will be in force for five years and he will have to sign as a sex offender for the same period.
Andrew Green, defending, said there was no objection to the orders or to destruction of the laptop. “There are issues that can be addressed to prevent escalation of the risk to children by the further viewing by you of disgusting images,” said Judge Parry when passing sentence.
“This is not a soft option.”
