The coastal village of Aberdyfi staged its ninth annual Food Festival on Sunday, 16 August, and organisers enjoyed another successful day.
Held on the old playing fields in the centre of the village, the festival featured the very best of local Welsh food producers, with stall holders travelling to the Gwynedd village from across Wales.
Visitors to the festival could take their pick of food and drink, from gorgeous Welsh gins and ciders to meat and sweet treats including doughnuts.
Though a little overcast, the temperature remained warm throughout the event, adding to the outdoor festival vibe.
Musicians were on hand to entertain visitors as they sampled the food and drink on offer.
Event organiser Rhian Cooper said: “The day surpassed our expectations yet again.
“The site was packed with visitors, the weather was perfect and our local musicians kept the crowds entertained throughout the day.”
Helen Lloyd from Welsh cheese producer Caws Cenarth, said: “Another huge success, such a happy atmosphere, great to see everyone enjoying themselves, plenty of fun and laughter, delicious food and lots of friendly traders and customers. We had a very successful day, and pretty much sold out of our cheese.”
Tom Smith from Breadsmiths in Chirk said: “Thank you for organising yet another great event. Turn out was brilliant, the weather behaved and I had a record day of sales.”
Local musicians included The Machynlleth Wind Band, Catrin O’Neill, Aberdyfi Handbell Players, Côr Meibion Bro Dysynni, Tra Môr sea shanty group & The Alements. The musicians performed throughout the day, providing a relaxed atmosphere for this family friendly event.
Eirlys Stoddard, who also organises the event, added: “We enjoyed a fabulous day and had visitors from far and wide sampling and buying the wonderful products on offer. We’re already looking forward to planning next year’s festival.”
