LAST Friday, the Maes Llewellyn Care Home in Newcastle Emlyn celebrated its 40th birthday.
With 40 residents and up to 40 staff, a tea party was organised to mark this memorable occasion.
The official celebration commenced with Wilfred Davies, a resident at Maes Llewellyn and former Carmarthenshire councillor, officially opening the tea party for residents, families and invited guests.
Senior support worker Helen Ghazal said: “It’s a low-key event and we decided to raise money on the same day for Cancer Research, so the staff and residents will all have the choice of wearing pink.
“We hope that Maes Llewellyn will be here for another 40 years and that it will still be going strong. People are always complementing the place, its staff, and the care given over the years.”
