Schoolchildren in Dwyfor Meirionnydd have shown their support for the Wales football team ahead of today’s last 16 clash with Denmark.

With coronavirus restrictions preventing fans from travelling to see the game, the Football Association of Wales invited schools to show their support for Wales by recording classes singing the Welsh national anthem.

Gwynedd Council threw its support behind the campaign, calling on schools to record Hen Wlad fy Nhadau ahead the knockout match in Amsterdam.

Pupils at Ysgol y Garreg in Llanfrothen gave a fantastic rendition of the national anthem yesterday.

Also joining in were pupils at Ysgol Penybryn in Tywyn who recorded themselves giving a huge cheer to the Wales’ national team.

Other schools around the region are getting involved to get behind Robert Page’s players in the lead up to kick off.

Welsh fans may be unable to travel to the match, but the team has been reminded that there is plenty of support for them back home.
