THE latest community news from Abercych

Coffe morning

A COFFEE morning for the DPJ Foundation will be held at Clynfyw Care Farm, Abercych, on Friday, 15 June.

The DPJ Foundation was set up in July 2016 following the tragic death of Daniel Picton-Jones.

The foundation aims to support people in rural communities with poor mental health, especially men in the agricultural sector.

Agriculture carries one of the highest rates of suicide and with mental health being such a big problem across society the foundation aims to break down the stigma that surrounds mental health and provide support services for those in rural communities.

While farming is an excellent career it comes with huge pressure, isolation and demand on a daily basis.

The DPJ Foundation was set up to help. Their helpline number is 0800 5874262.

In September Clynfyw are organising a project which runs along the whole length of the River Teifi as a fund-raiser for the DPJ Foundation.

In addition to a talk about the foundation, they will also be talking about this project and letting people know how they can get involved.

“We have already got over 40 groups and individuals interested in playing a part,” said a spokesman.
