WITH the expected arrival of the Beast from the East, the group’s St David’s Day celebrations were postponed from 1 March until the following week.

On 8 March members enjoyed a special tea, prepared by the committee, following a Welsh quiz which had been compiled by Dave, the chairperson, for the meeting.

On Thursday, 15 March, a visit had been arranged to see the film The Greatest Showman.

The film was thoroughly enjoyed by members from the very comfortable seats at Libanus in Borth.

The final meeting in March took place on 29 March. Following the usual business, members spent a relaxing afternoon.

A group of members were involved in the preparation of the scarecrows for the Scarecrow Festival which will take place in Borth this month.

The remaining members enjoyed various activities including scrabble and dominoes. A bring and buy table had also been arranged.

A selection of cakes provided by Marion, who had recently celebrated her 80th birthday, was enjoyed with the usual cup of tea.

The next meeting of the group will take place on 12 April when they are looking forward to welcoming back Zana from Blue Island Ceramics for a hands-on afternoon.

The meeting will, as usual, start at 2pm.

Jamboree Pudding Party

A JAMBOREE Pudding Party takes place on Sunday, 22 April, between 3-5pm in the Community Hall.

There are five Scouts/Explorers in Ceredigion who have got through to the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia in 2019.It’s an event held every four years and involves scouts from all over the world. Three of those selected to attend from Ceredigion are from Leri Dragons (Borth Explorers) and this pudding party is part of their fund-raising.

They are inviting people who attended the 2nd Borth Scout group in the past to come back and join them for this Pudding Party as well as anyone who has attended a World Scout Jamboree in the past. Everyone is welcome. The three Explorers from Borth are Anna Williams, Dion Ellis -Clark and Toohey Everard Walker.
