Rotary Meeting

BUSINESS was discussed at Llanidloes Rotary Club’s recent meeting.

The club has a number of events lined up from their inaugural 10k (ish) run and walk to their annual Concert in the Park.

President elect John Selwyn-Smith also went into detail about a one-off event he is planning in aid of Dogs for the Blind.

In preparation for this event the club will welcome members from the organisation along with their dogs to next week’s meeting as guest speakers.

During the meeting the club voted and donated £500 towards Llanidloes’s Dial-A-Ride in response to their recent plea.

Another donation of £500 was also made towards the Palliative Care Centre which will see the installation of two new televisions prior to the suite becoming operational.

The club’s membership has gone from strength to strength with Barbara Holmes present at the meeting as another potential member.

If you would like to be part of this ever growing and evolving club, drop them a line or speak to a local Rotarian.

There are only a few weeks left to register and join in the fun when Llanidloes Rotary Club host its first 10K event in aid of Llanidloes High school.

Anyone wishing to enter the run, which takes place on Sunday 6 May, can do so online at www.llanidloes.com/cambrian-mountain-events or in person at Llani Leisure.

The Rotary club would like to announce that every penny made from this event will go straight back to Llanidloes High School.

Everyone entering this regardless of how quick they complete the distance will personally be supporting their local school.

So get registered, have fun, support your school and get your medal.
