RSPB Ynys-hir Reserve

HALF-term Events: The Autumn Craft Fair is on every day with an array of local craft to browse. Enjoy a walk at the same time, with the woods looking splendid in their autumn colours and the geese arriving for the winter on the saltmarshes.

Activities for children and families include a twilight Trail on Tuesday, 31 October, and families can go ‘Wild in the Woods’ on Thursday, 2 November, building dens etc. Phone the visitor centre on 01654 700222 for more information and to book a place.

Planning

DURING the period from 27 September to 18 October, under delegated powers, county planners approved an application for the installation of new UPVC windows and doors to replace existing, 1-3 Llynlloedd Lane.

MOMA Machynlleth

SPECIALLY commissioned for the Welsh Museums’ Festival, artist Lauren Heckler has produced a film inspired by the theme Legend.

The film will be shown on a loop system between 10am and 4pm at the Tabernacle MOMA on Saturday, 4 November.

The highly successful exhibition ‘Local Artists, Local Scenes’ is being extended until Saturday, 11 November, due to popular demand.

The exhibition is of paintings and prints generously donated in order to raise money for the development of a new store for the Tabernacle Collection in 1 Glasfryn, next door to MOMA.

Hear to Help

THE Hear to Help drop-in clinic will take place on Friday, 3 November, at the Care Centre, from 10am to midday.

NHS hearing-aid wearers can visit this Action on Hearing Loss Cymru service for friendly help with cleaning their aids, new tubes and free batteries.

The clinic is free and is run by trained volunteers on the first Friday of each month.

Mach Maethlon

EDIBLE Mach Maethlon is extending a welcome to join in an exciting project to rebuild the Ysgol Glantwymyn kitchen garden.

All help welcomed on Saturday, 11 November. Hot drinks and snacks provided.

Children welcome (must be accompanied). Wear sturdy footwear.

Book Club

THE local book club – a reflection of life through literature – meets regularly in the Green Room at the Tabernacle, and always appreciates new members.

On Friday, 3 November, stating at 2pm, under discussion will be ‘The Fall of the Stone City’ by Leif Fielding. Come along and join them, admission £1.

Market Day Talk

THE popular Mid-day market day meet artists’ series will, this month, feature Nicky Prescott, who will talk about her work at MOMA Machynlleth on Wednesday, 15 November, at noon.

OPENING fixtures in the Dyfi Valley Darts League saw Dwynant complete a dominant 10 to 0 result over Bowling Club.
