EcoBro Fair
HUNDREDS of people are expected at the 10th annual EcoBro Fair next weekend.
On Saturday, 5 May, the Green Shoots Fair is held in Neuadd Goffa Penrhyndeudraeth Memorial Hall between 10am and 3pm.
Dr Rod Gritten, chairman of EcoBro Meirion-Dwyfor, said: “The fair is very successful and a wonderful opportunity for local people to swap their surplus plants, seedlings or seeds.
“There are many other stalls at the fair covering a broad range of aspects of sustainability.
“This year’s Green Shoots Fair promises to be even more successful than last when over 350 local people brought plants to give away.
“Bring any surplus plants or cuttings you might have and swap them for some you are short of. In fact, why not come and pick up a few plants if you need any?”
The fair draws together local food producers, youth groups, renewable energy companies, green woodworkers, local craftspeople and recycling initiatives.
At the centre of the fair is the annual seedling and plant swap where you will find everything from tomatoes and lettuce to cherry trees and African flat beans.
There will also be the opportunity to come and learn about bee-keeping, new transport ideas, a raffle (with an apple tree as the grand prize), and children’s activities.
MP Liz Saville Roberts will officially open the Green Shoots Fair at 10.15am.
