Madam,
Cylch Caron extra care housing project has reached an ‘important milestone’, according to Cllr Catherine Hughes.
Translated, this means that after 10 years and 150 per cent of the original budget spent, we are at roughly the same position we were at in early 2016. Not a single trench dug or a foundation laid.
I suppose that the plans presented to the public in December 2016 and prepared at goodness knows what cost (including state of the art bird and bat boxes) are now in the waste bin.
When are the Welsh Government going to wake up to the fact that there are obviously serious deficits in how this project, funded by scarce public resources, has been managed to date and take action?
I also hope that putting the project out to tender as a design and build project won’t lead to any reduction in the services planned for Cylch Caron.
Yours etc,
George Holloway, 69 Rhoshendre, Waunfawr.
