Ysgol Pontrhydfendigaid has been given the go-ahead for an extension to provide three new classrooms and new toilets.
Ceredigion County Council’s planning department has used its powers to approve the application, which a council spokesperson said was needed to provide improved facilities at the school by replacing a temporary classroom.
The spokesperson said: “The proposal is to build a new reception classroom to replace a temporary facility.
“The classroom will have access to suitable outside space, a shared resource space and separate WCs.
“In addition, an early-years classroom will also be constructed to accommodate pupils from Years 1 and 2, ensuring that the existing facility can be used as a resource space for Key Stage 2.
“The 100 per cent grant funding has been made available for this project by the Welsh Government.”
A planning report said the development would not cause any adverse effects at the school.
It says: “It is considered that the development will not impact the character of the school or the area.
“The extension is to be provided within the curtilage of the school and will not impact the neighbouring property.
“There will still be adequate grounds available for a play area within the curtilage.”
