HUNDREDS of school pupils from mid and west Wales travelled to Aberystwyth University last week to celebrate National Science Week.
The three-day science exhibition Exploration and Discovery is organised by the university’s Centre for Widening Participation and Social Inclusion and takes place in the Sports Cage on the Penglais Campus.
Debra Croft, director of the centre, said: “The enthusiasm, professionalism and knowledge of our staff and students, working and volunteering together, have ensured the success of Science Week in the past.
“2018’s theme is Exploration and Discovery and will highlight the breadth and depth of the excellent scientific work that is being done at Aberystwyth University.
“National Science Week is a key component in promoting the knowledge of science amongst school pupils.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase innovation and technology, and inspire the younger generation to take an interest in science.”
Exhibits this year include a robot maze, marine creatures and some mind-blowing puzzles and there will be an opportunity to take part in a science quiz.
