Madam,

I am writing in response to last week’s letter regarding the Estyn inspection on Penglais Nursery.

As a former staff member, the complimentary and positive comments were a real comfort, to learn that all the staff efforts were not in vain and to be recognised and respected for our dedication and our roles.

May I add that it was not just a job to us, but a passion we shared in order to achieve and to make a difference, and the report reflected this. As long-standing staff we had been together many years, and cared for children from past to present, and to see some of them passing their GCSE examinations makes us proud to know they started with us.

I would like to thank all the parents for their support, and kindness shown with cards and gifts during our stressful time.

Finally, thanks to all the ladies of Penglais Nursery of many years for their friendship, support and all the fun times we once had!

A thank you to Llinos James, our shortest-serving manager ever, for the award and for her support, care and understanding. Also for putting up with us.
