THE owners of Portmeirion’s Festival No 6 have bought a controlling stake in a Llyn festival.
Broadwick Live have bought a 65 per cent share of wakeboarding and music festival Glass Butter Beach, which is held in Llanbedrog, and hope to grow the event from its current 5,000 attendees to 15,000.
The deal will see the owners and organisers of Festival No 6 take control of line-up, ticketing, site design and logistics.
The company say they want to develop the event with an 18-23 year-old demographic.
Gareth Cooper, founder of Broadwick Live, said: “We have a real love for north Wales – the scenery, the people – it has to be one of the best places in the world to host a festival, something clearly demonstrated by the massive success of No.6 that is in no small part down to the location and the local community.
“As a company we have been looking for events and festivals that fit into our ethos and we feel Glass Butter Beach is ideal.
“Having grown out of the renowned Wakestock Festival it appeals to a slightly different audience but we loved the incredible location and the vibe."
