A MACHYNLLETH mother who ran the Snowdonia Half-Marathon has surprised herself by enjoying the event and wanting to do it again.

Tina McAuley has raised over £660 for Future Play Machynlleth thanks to donations from the public, many of whom have donated anonymously.

While Tina, 38, said she was grateful for the support she had received in raising the money, she said she was surprised that she was keen to take part in the event again despite admitting before the half-marathon that people who knew her said she’d “struggle running up any small hill”.

She said: “I just took my time and enjoyed myself. My aim was just to run all the way and I did that. The weather was fine; it wasn’t raining.

“I did enjoy it and I would do it again, although I can’t believe I said that. That was the main thing, that I enjoy it, and I did.

“I’d been following an exercise plan for about four months and that is what got me through.”
