Madam,

With reference to the complaint of sheep faeces on the field for Llanon Carnival, which featured on the letters page in last week’s Cambrian News (‘Field needs cleaning’), I understand that the sheep had been moved some days before the carnival took place. There were some faeces on the field but they had been there for some time and they were baked hard from the sun.

Grass was in short supply, other fields being burnt brown with no grass for the sheep, otherwise the sheep would have been moved sooner.

It is with the generosity of the farmer that the field, which is directly in front of the village hall, can be used for the carnival.

I must applaud the carnival committee and their helpers for putting on a fantastic carnival and may they continue for many years to come.

Yours etc,

Bryan Tomlins, Llanon.
